Positive India Journey
Sacred Travel Atelier
"Awaken your inner self on the banks of the sacred Ganges"
India is the birthplace of yoga — and a yoga journey here is not merely exercise but a profound spiritual homecoming. This carefully curated Yoga & Meditation Tour takes you to Rishikesh, the world capital of yoga, where the Ganges rushes clear and cold from the Himalayas, and to Varanasi, the eternal city where every dawn is a meditation. Under the guidance of authentic yogacharyas and meditation masters, you will practice pranayama, asana, dhyana and Nada yoga in settings of extraordinary natural beauty and spiritual power. Return home with a renewed body, a quieted mind, and an awakened soul.
Arrive in Rishikesh — the yoga capital of the world, nestled in the Himalayan foothills where the Ganges flows crystal clear. Upon arrival, check in to your ashram-style retreat. In the evening, attend the magnificent Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat — hundreds of diyas floating on the river in the purple dusk. Meet your yoga teacher and receive an introduction to the week's practice. Overnight at Rishikesh.
Begin the day at 6 AM with pranayama — the yogic science of breath — at a riverside platform. Follow with a two-hour morning asana class focusing on alignment and awareness. After breakfast, visit Parmarth Niketan Ashram and receive a blessing from the resident swami. Afternoon session covers the philosophy of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Evening: Nada Yoga — the yoga of sacred sound — using Himalayan singing bowls and mantra chanting.
Morning meditation in a forest clearing above the Ganges — a 90-minute guided dhyana session in nature. After breakfast, trek to the ancient Neelkanth Mahadev temple through jungle paths (5 km). This sacred shrine to Lord Shiva sits at 1,330 meters above sea level in a forest of towering trees. Afternoon: Yoga Nidra — a guided deep relaxation technique that can replace hours of sleep. Evening Aarti at Laxman Jhula. Overnight Rishikesh.
Drive 25 km to Haridwar — where the Ganges enters the plains from the Himalayas. This is one of the seven most sacred cities in Hinduism. Visit Har Ki Pauri — the holiest ghat, where gods are said to descend. Witness the evening Ganga Aarti, one of the most spectacular in India. Explore the Mansa Devi temple by cable car, and visit the ancient Chandi Devi temple. Return to Rishikesh for an evening gentle restorative yoga session. Overnight Rishikesh.
Morning yoga class before checkout. Fly or travel to Varanasi — the world's oldest continuously inhabited city, and India's holiest. Check in to your riverside hotel. In the evening, visit Dashashwamedh Ghat for the magnificent Ganga Aarti — seven priests perform a synchronized fire ritual with lamps, incense and flowers to the river goddess. This ceremony is the beating heart of Varanasi's spiritual life. Overnight Varanasi.
Rise before dawn for the most magical experience of the journey — a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges. As the sky turns gold and saffron, watch Varanasi awaken: pilgrims bathing, priests performing rituals, sadhus meditating, bodies being cremated at Manikarnika — the eternal fire that has burned for 3,000 years. Return for breakfast. Morning yoga and meditation class at Assi Ghat — where yoga has been practised for centuries. Afternoon: visit Kashi Vishwanath temple and Sarnath (Buddha's first sermon site, 10 km). Evening sound healing session at the hotel.
Final morning practice: an integration session combining everything from the week — pranayama, asana, meditation and mantra. Receive a certificate of completion from your teacher. Time for personal reflection and last-minute shopping — Varanasi is famous for its Banarasi silk, rudraksha beads and handmade instruments. Transfer to Varanasi Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying with you the stillness that India always gives to those who seek it.
